Provide a cultural analysis of a contemporary film from our Movie List (below). The purpose of this assignment is to help you enhance your knowledge of
modern multicultural concepts/tools. Recalling our class exercises can help you, especially:

Watch your assigned movie from the list, then think about, and discuss with your classmates (especially those assigned the same movie): how various topics
about multiculturalism are represented in the movie. Then, on your own, and using course concepts/tools, you should consider and write about the following
regarding the movie:
a) How is culture depicted in the movie? (i.e., explain how culture is depicted by correctly using one of our multicultural tools: Uses of Culture, nature
of differences, worldview models, emic/etic approaches, stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination, Biopsychosocial model, sources of cooperation vs. conflict,
cultural identities, implications on physical & mental health, etc.). What was the primary cultural theme in the movie?
b) Culturally place/define three characters from the movie (including at least one minor character).
c) Regardless of the movies overall cultural theme,
i. How is race and/or ethnicity dealt with in the movie?
ii. How is gender dealt with in the movie?
iii. How is class dealt with in the movie?
iv. How is sexuality dealt with in the movie?
v. How is religion, spirituality, or similar cultural belief system dealt with in the movie?
Provide a critical analysis of these issues in relation to the movie. [This is the 5-8 page paper]. That is: How well did the movie address the (above)
issues? What thoughts, feelings, or concerns did the movie generate for you? What character(s) did you most identify with and why? What character(s) did
you least identify with and why? What did you learn after or by watching the movie? If you watched the movie before, was it different watching it this
