NewViews is a medium size construction management/contractual company established in 1975. They work on construction projects for both private and public sector, primarily offices and industrial facilities. Historically all of the company workload has been obtained through the traditional from of procurement. Task-
NewViews has ambitious plans to deliver building projects (commercial and residential) of outstanding quality to its clients, and is actively considering BIM and associated technologies in the drive to achieve Lean-based efficiency improvement and six sigma based quality enhancement. your strategy must address the product, process and organizational aspects of BIM implementation and discussion under each of the following challenges.
A. The organization challenge
Your key emphasis should be to discuss and analyze BIM implementation at the organizational level, discuss how BIM deployment can be aligned with organizational vision, goals and objectives
B. The process challenge
Your key emphasis will be on integration of the workflow and business process with the building product using BIM based tools. Focus on the “I” (information) in BIM, and discuss how processes should be designed to ensure that information remains accessible to the right person at the time and cost. You are also expected to discuss various tools and techniques that may be used to increase construction productivity.
C. The product challenge
Key point of this challenge s to make a case for what various BIM software tools can do for your clients and how it can be used to overcome various challenges common is current practices. You are expected to gain skills in technical analysis using BIM and where appropriate and cite appropriate example/screen captures from the analyzed building model.
