CONDUCTING AN INFORMATIONAL INTERVIEW
Now that you have had the opportunity to explore different career options that match your skills, thinking style, personality style and values it is time to begin to narrow down your career interest areas. Although you may still be undecided about your exact career direction at this time, try to select one or two careers that seem to stimulate your interest the most. Then, set up an interview with an individual or individuals who are presently in those position(s) to gather more information about the specific career.
Below I have listed a few questions your may consider using during your informational interview:

-What aspects of the job do they enjoy least?
-Describe a typical day.
-Would they select this career path again if given the choice?
-What type of personality style, thinking styles and skills would be best suited for this career choice?
-How much interaction do they have with other people throughout the day?
-Is the salary competitive with the cost of living?
-What is the employment outlook in this occupational field?
-Would they encourage other individuals to pursue this line of employment?
-Do you find your work exciting and stimulating?
-Do you feel valued for your knowledge, contribution and accomplishments?
-Can they provide an overall recommendations regarding career direction?
