The research essay will build and elaborate on the topic selected in the proposal, with appropriate consideration of any changes recommended by the TA and the instructor.
The research paper should be twelve to sixteen pages (not including cover page and bibliography), double-spaced, 12 pt font and 1-inch margins.
The research paper must draw on at least twelve academic peer reviewed sources (journal articles or books) and students must ensure that all quotations and references are properly formatted with the necessary bibliographical information. Newspapers, magazines, and web pages can be used?as sources of data, quotes, or recent events, but they are to be used in addition to the eight required academic sources. Do not use blogs, personal web pages, or encyclopedias (digital or otherwise).
Papers will be evaluated on form (grammar, syntax, and presentation), content (use of relevant, original, and current material) and analysis (nuance, balance, and critical assessment).
