Directions
Students will select a topic from a list of instructor-provided choices. References are required for use in developing the paper. Effective research skills, knowledge and understanding of gerontology, long term care and managerial concepts are required to develop an exemplary paper. Additionally, the paper must be organized and well written (e.g. grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, etc.).
The paper must include an overview of the issue, appropriate data to convey the applicability of the issue, why the issue should be important to society, current strategies addressing the issue and the stuntmen’s insight on the challenges facing society and/or the industry.
Students must use APA style for the paper, abstract and bibliography. Each paper must cite at minimum five and maximum ten references. Three (3) must be professional and credible journal articles. The body of the paper (excluding the references and any exhibits) must not less than 5 pages or to exceed 10 pages, double-spaced with one-inch margins.
Topics:
1. Discuss whether the United States’ LTC system is a continuum as defined by as R. Connie Evashwick .(pg. 21)
2. Discuss current and future demographics and their impact on various aspects of the long term care continuum and innovative methods created in response to these demographics.
