On August 28, 1963, in front of the steps of the Lincoln memorial, one of the most charismatic leaders the world has ever seen gave a speech entitled "I Have a Dream." The leader, of course, was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Standing at the podium on that muggy afternoon before millions of people, Dr. King spoke with great conviction about his vision of equality for all, touching the hearts of all who heard. It is believed that this speech catapulted Dr. King into the undisputed position of leader of the Civil Rights Movement.
Think for a moment about Dr. King or another charismatic leader who has inspired you. What made the leader charismatic? What effect did he or she have on you?
