In the Subject outline the teacher advised that the major communication assignment for MKTG 7028 Marketing Communication had three elements totalling 40%. The first element being the Communication brief worth 10% which would be assessed on an individual basis.
Each work group has now started on pulling together the background material to put together a professional brief. The brief to will need to be completed in class by Wednesday 26th March (and I will attach a copy of it)
The requirement for this exercise as follows: Each student should submit by 4.00PM Monday 30 March on Wattle.
1. A copy of your groups final executive summary. 2-3 pages ( I will also attach this one. There might still be some chafes that we are doing as a group. In case of changes, I will submit straight away the new document)
2. Each student should find and describe a communication brief from any other source, eg. On line reference, another organisation, another academic source. ( this is the big part that I would like you to take care of. Basically the more the brief is bad, the better. The idea is to put in evidence where the found brief hasn’t followed the theory of a good brief)
3. Describe how the in process of writing the brief worked in your group. What could have improved the exercise ( I would also need this question to be answered by the writer. Basically just put in a nice way that the group worked well together, meeting regularly and coming out with the brief I will attach)
4. Do you think that the material in your groups brief will be adequate to fully inform the communication agency? If not what else would be needed. ( The writer could analyse our brief and point out the parts were we could have done better.)
This whole assignment should be no more that 1500 words plus appendixes ( I putted 825-900 because the rest of the words come from the executive summary that we already did. So basically 825-900 words to answer questions 2,3,4).
A pass will be of a competent description of the executive summary and supporting brief. It will contain and how it was constructed and problems encountered in gathering and filtering the data.
A credit will be an above average description of the brief as above and some discussion of the additional effort the individual student put in to the task to ensure it was professional.
A Distinction will have all of the above and demonstrate a professional level of analysis of the process the research required and sources used to construct the brief.
A HD will be an exceptional analysis of the communication problem, and translation of that into a useful set of communication objectives and budget. The student should provide evidence of wider reading and how students worked together as a team. Finally it should have recommendations on how the brief could have been done more effectively
