2. INTRODUCTION
• Background on topic and purpose of study. Rationale.

3. LITERATURE REVIEW

• A literature review is not simply describing what a study did in list form (THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE), but what the results of each study were and logically and with careful writing weaving together similar articles that encompass the specific topic. Students are expected to find between 12-15 journal articles from the library and use them in the literature review.

2. develop research questions – these go at the end of your literature review

• Students will need to cite the articles in APA (American Psychological Association) style within the literature review. ALL articles MUST be cited.

4. RESEARCH QUESTIONS
• Examples of research questions:

o How do men differ in their nonverbal immediacy behaviors than women during implicit disclosures?
o What is the relationship between gender and the experience, expression, and goals of romantic jealousy?

5. METHOD
• Participants (Who did you study? Number of women and men, percent of ethnic background, mean, standard deviation and range, etc.)
• Procedures (What method would you use to collect your data.)

6. RESULTS
1. present results in terms of addressing the research questions
2. include relevant frequencies, mean, and tables where relevant

7. DISCUSSION
1. discuss how findings relate to a theory, other research, and the big picture
2. briefly discuss limitations of the study (briefly)
3. discuss future research possibilities

8. REFERENCES (Not included in the length of the paper.)
• Students MUST provide a type written bibliography or list of references that they used in their research proposal. Again, students MUST use between 10-15 journal articles.
