Evolutionary Psychology

Design and execute an experiment on an environmental issue, and write up your experimental results. You can replicate someone else’s experiment, develop a variation on someone else’s experiment, or come up with an experiment of your own. “Environmental issue” is broadly
defined and includes climate change, environmental health and safety standards, urban planning, and much else besides.
Your paper should describe (1) the literature (typically one article or book, not necessarily
posted on the class website), (2) your hypothesis, (3) your experimental design, (4) your
experimental execution, (5) your experimental results, (6) at least one graphic or table for data, and (7) your conclusion.
Motivate your
hypothesis. Discuss tradeoffs in the design and snags in the execution. You will be graded not based on whether your hypothesis was proven right, but whether it is an interesting hypothesis; whether your experimental design and execution are appropriate for testing the hypothesis; whether you did a good job writing up your experimental results; and whether your conclusion is insightful.

Upon request, you must be able to submit hard copies of the questionnaires filled out by your
survey respondents, by way of proof that your writeup is consistent with your experimental
results.
