Students will become a participating citizen in a democratic society. In order to effectively participate, students have to not only learn about the issues facing democracy, but have to show personal development in their understanding of these issues. In each module, the student will take one of the Learning Outcomes listed for the module and show evidence of their ability to not only comprehend the significance of that learning outcome, but also how they are personally impacted by that outcome. Finally, they will relate their thoughts to the Saint Leo core value of community. Students will prepare a response that is 200-300 words, typewritten, double-spaced, in Times New Roman, 12-point font, and should include proper language, grammar, and spelling. Students are to submit their Reflective Journal by Sunday 11:59 PM EST/EDT in the module assigned.

For the Reflective Journal assignment, you will need to take one of the Objectives listed for this module and show evidence of your ability to not only comprehend the significance of that objective, but also how you are personally impacted by that objective. For example, you may wish comment on the modules impact on your view of the responsibilities of democratic citizenship as discussed in Pericles Funeral Oration. Finally, relate your thoughts to the Saint Leo core value of community.
