PREPARATION OF A BRIEF
Follow the following format:
A. Style of the Case (name of the case) with the case properly cited.
Example: Miranda v. Arizona, 384 U.S. 436, 86 S.Ct. 1602, (1966)

B. The issue in the case should be stated. The issue statement usually begins with
“ whether the court ……..”
C. Very brief recitation of the facts in the case
D. Statement of the legal issues. What law is being challenged?
E. How did the court rule? Who wrote the opinion?
F. Who were the attorneys involved?
G. What was interesting about the case?
