PUBLIC & HEALTH POLICY DEBATE ISSUES

. Four students per issue- 2 students research & present the PRO side of the issue, and 2 student’s research & present the CON side of the issue.
2. All students must participate in the debate, per the timed Debate Activity Sequence below.
3. Each speaker from a team will be prepared to present and argue 3 evidence-based facts that are different for each speaker, and that support the team’s position (a total of six evidence-based facts per team).
4. The facts and their sources will be submitted to faculty at the time of the debate, in APA format.
5. Each team must be prepared to clarify or defend up to five “Crossfire” questions from the opposing team. (The purpose of the “Crossfire” questions is to weaken the opponent’s argument.) In the first Crossfire, the CON Speaker will pose a question to the PRO speaker. In the second Crossfire, the PRO speaker will pose a question to the CON speaker. In the Grand Crossfire, all speakers participate, with the first question being posed by a member of the PRO team to the CON team.
