Assessment Task 2: Positive Classroom Management

Description of the Task:
This task is related to Modules 1 and 2: the lectures, the required readings and your independent reading of other associated literature. Independent references can be sourced from the UNE library (search on such terms as behaviour management, positive learning, teaching styles, classroom management, etc.), references from other libraries and/or using the reference lists at the end of readings.
The task addresses learning outcomes 1, 3 and 4:
• LO1: demonstrate specialised knowledge regarding the motivations behind teacher and student behaviours in education settings;
• LO3: analyse a range of different classroom management styles and articulate how they might use these in the professional classroom.
• LO4: demonstrate understanding of what it means to act professionally when working with learners.
The task requires you to:
1. Reflect on each of the two questions and then respond, using at least three references to support your answer in each case. All references should be cited in text and referenced in the reference list using APA referencing (for a guide to APA referencing see http://www.une.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0007/12958/REF_APA-Referencing.pdf).
1. Each full question response should be 750 words (see the ‘Assignment formatting and marking’ link in the School of Education block to the right on the Moodle home page for word allowances).
2. Your responses should be written in formal English, using correct grammar and punctuation. English spelling should be used by preference, but you will not be penalised for US spelling. The spelling convention should be consistent throughout.
