Environmental Injustice in Cancer Alley

Cancer alley is the name given to the area stretching from Baton Rouge to New Orleans along the Mississippi River. It has been named so because of the high concentration of industrial and chemical facilities located along the river, mainly oil refineries. For decades residents have complained of higher than average cases of cancer in their communities along with many women complaining of reproductive Health issues. Such a concentration of toxic processing and polluting sources would bring up questions of Environmental justice anywhere, but furthering the case of environmental injustice and racism, is the fact that the majority neighborhoods affected are mostly African American. I would like a scholarly presentation of a case study/research paper, about 6 pages, with a bibliography, and in APA style. Should be written from an Environmental justice(or injustice) perspective. Should go into detail how the toxic polluting facilities disproportionately affect the minorities and poor who live around them, and the effects on the residents. references I want used: Blodgett, A.
