Writing is meant to touch us emotionally; an A response will articulate a complex emotional response AND what elements of the work triggered that response.
In the second part, I ask that you pay attention to the tension/dissonance in the work (it’s there) and to evaluate which literary elements contribute to produce the tension (imagery, metaphor, language, character, style, setting, symbolism).
