Religion class term paper: “The university is a religious institution.”

“The university is a religious institution.” After a semester of considering law, culture, colonialism, sexual difference, economy and more, it is time to contend with the institution of which we are a part. Consider then, that the university is a religious institution. Describe how it is so, and how not. Explain what is gained by describing it in these terms. Remain specific in your analysis and stay close to what you know best, content and form: your major, your courses, your extra-curricular activities, your dorm, your habits. Do remember that the university is an institution, but it is more than that. Out of that knowledge, build a general case that may (or may not) involve the university’s administration, its location, its appearance and its prestige, or the conditions of its existence, internal and external.
