You will be applying the method of literary criticism that you chose from Appendix 3 to one or more pieces of writing. How many works you choose will depend on how much you need to cover in order to develop an 8-10-page paper. Make sure that your plan includes a strong claim and an idea of what each paragraph will do. You will need to introduce the type of criticism and to introduce the works you will use in your paper as well as to interpret those works using the method you chose. You will also want to refer to articles or essays as part of your research. You might choose to include articles by critics who have used the method to analyze literary works in order to demonstrate how it is used or you might choose to include articles that explain or discuss the method itself. You will need to use at least 3 good sources. Your goal is to explain and apply the method of literary criticism that you chose. Your tentative plan is due at our next class meeting.
