Students will develop tours that focus on some aspect of the Memphis/Mid-South Region. Tours may consist of 1-hour tours, half-day excursions up to multi-day trips and might relate to culture, cuisine, arts and entertainment, sport, history, natural history or any other area that you believe might be of interest to visitors. You should not copy an existing tour for your project. Your project should include a detailed description of the tour, mode of travel, marketing plan (including information on age, gender, socio economic profile, education, etc.), logistics, SWOT analysis and examples of advertising/information/promotional materials. This project will be submitted in the form of a PowerPoint presentation. Tours will be evaluated on the following: 1) Detail, accuracy and completeness of information contained in the written report, 2) Feasibility of the tour (financial, logistical, political), 3) Quality of the PowerPoint presentation in “selling” the tour, 4) Creativity, appeal and potential for success.
