As an introduction to your Research Project, Paper #1 should, at least, include the following:
(b) A discussion of your reasons for choosing the group(s), the place, and the time period. ( Asian American and African American In California during 1850s)
(c) A brief history of the place that includes a description with details about the location, topographical features, population, economy, etc., as well as one or more maps of its exact location within the BEA/SMSA region.
(d) A statement that tells what you expect to learn from your research.
(e) A brief discussion of the sources you intend to use/ especially the most important or unique.
NOTE:
I. Colletta, “Ansonia,” Wilkerson, Least Heat Moon, et al, as well as the NEH Stories are excellent examples of descriptive details. These are all on ANGEL.
II. Plat maps, street maps, etc. will be required later, but may be included in this assignment.
III. You will probably make (small) changes as your research moves forward?
