proving gods exsistence

Throughout the term, we have discussed several authors that have tried to prove that a god exists. How do you feel about their efforts?
Do you think that this task is possible? Is there merit in the use of different styles of the “proof” based arguments, or is it the case that one style of argument alone (such as the cosmological argument) is sufficient to prove the existence of a god? If so, is evidence necessary to prove a god exists? What could count as evidence in a religious argument?
Do you think the task is impossible? Is there any way to prove that a god exists? Is the effort simply bankrupt (and if so, why)? Is the existence of a god something that is merely a matter of faith? If a god does exist, would it have a type of existence that is simply too different than our own, and, therefore be inconceivable?
Remember, the focus of your paper is to answer 2 questions: 1) is it possible to prove a god exists, 2) an explanation of your answer. You do not need to review the assignments we covered in class, unless you share the same thoughts as one of our authors. You are not graded on your ability to summarize what others have said, but rather your ability to present a solid, thoroughly explained philosophical argument.

Be an Anthropologist

Anthropologists study many different aspects of humanity in order to fully understand the
diversity of the human species. One of these aspects concerns our development as a
species, both physically and culturally. For the assignment, the student will first discuss
and investigate evolution as viewed by physical anthropology, and then the student will
investigate and discuss evolution from one other subfield – cultural, linguist, or
archaeological.

2) Define evolution (using textbook and lecture notes)
a. This should include APA-formatted in-text citations and full references
3) Discuss what a physical anthropologist may examine/investigate in order to study
evolution. (e.g. population DNA)
4) Discuss ‘how’ a physical anthropologist would study your answer for Q3 and why
it is helpful for studying evolution.5) Find at least one outside source related to your answer for Q3 and Q4 (e.g. the
genome project for DNA- do not use this example in your paper since it is

how tools have changed through time, and what has caused that change- do not
use this example in your paper since it is provided for you)10) Discuss ‘how’ an anthropologist from your chosen subfield would study your
answer for Q9, and why it is helpful for studying evolution.
11) Find at least one outside source related to your answer for Q9 and Q10 (e.g. the
genome project- do not use this example in your paper since it is provided for
you).
