Developmental Pathways Leading to Physical Aggression

Topic: Developmental Pathways Leading to Physical Aggression in adolescent girls I need to utilize archived data using data that already exsist on this population. This is a qualitative study. I will be uploading my chapters 1, 2, and 3 so you can use as a guide Chapter 4: Results In this unit, the fourth major component of your dissertation will be due: Chapter 4: Results. The results of the data collection and analysis of the data are presented in Chapter four of the dissertation. This chapter should begin with a brief restatement of the purpose of the study. The presentation of the findings of the study should be presented and organized in a systematic order (i.e. by research question or hypothesis). The analysis of the data depends on the research question, the design of the study, and type of data collected (e.g., use of SPSS, NVivo, coding manuals, statistical treatments for quantitative data, content analysis for qualitative data). The structure of the analysis should parallel the structure of the introduction and methodology sections, including hypotheses where employed. Where multiple hypotheses are tested, the normal presentation is to provide the results concurrently with the data analysis. In most instances, a summary discussion of results should also be included. Analytic interpretation of the results is appropriate; however, discussion of importance and implications of the findings should be addressed in the final section of the dissertation. All data in Chapter four must be factually presented and should be free of interpretation. The results should provide answers to each of the research questions or hypotheses. There are several methods of presenting the findings of your study. Because various types of allowable research differ in required data presentation, check on content documents with your applicable college. Data may be presented in a narrative description, charts, graphs, tables, as individual statistics, or in any combination of these methods, according to the guidelines of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th edition). The chapter should conclude with a summary of all the findings and provide a transition paragraph to the final chapter of the dissertation. Refer to the Dissertation Guide for content and formatting of this chapter. Typically, the chapter is organized as follows: CHAPTER FOUR: RESULTS…………………………………………………………….. ## Restatement of the Purpose………………………………………………………………. ## Heading for Research Question or Hypothesis #1 Findings……………………….. ## Heading for Research Question or Hypothesis #2 Findings……………………….. ## Any Subheadings are Indented…………………………………………………….. ## Any Subheadings are Indented…………………………………………………….. ## Headings for Research Question or Hypothesis #3 Findings…………………….. ##l

portfolio

Students will develop an electronic portfolio through an appropriate organisation or Internet-based site, such as Google Sites. A minimum of 4 sections/web-pages is required at this stage, but students may add more if they desire. The 4 required sections/web-pages are:

1. Profile (“snapshot” of the student: personal attributes; academic and employment achievements; brief career; strategies to achieve compliance with NMBA guidelines).
2. Curriculum vitae (personal details; academic and employment history; referees; interests).
3. Continuing professional development (CPD) (past and planned short courses, workshops, seminars, conferences, working groups or other relevant professional development activities).
4. Based on the Gibbs Cycle (or other reflection framework), critical reflection on a specific recent event in either a work or education context (not the critical reflection from Assessment 1)

Students will commence inserting information into each section/web-page (200 words for each of the 4 mandated sections/web-pages). Students will submit the URL of their portfolio, ensuring that the marker has access to the site.
Special instructions for submission of the portfolio. For Turnitin checking purposes, students are to cut and paste the text from their final portfolio into a document (.doc, .docx, .rtf), together with the URL for their e-portfolio, for submission through Turnitin via the vUWS site. The e-portfolio itself will be marked, not the pasted text, so the formatting within the text document is not important.

Repress Yourself Reaction Essay

Carefully read the NY Times Magazine article Repress Yourself by Lauren Slater (Feb. 23, 2003). Don’t be intimidated by her somewhat cynical and know-it-all style — there is plenty of room for criticism and meaningful discussion of her claims. In fact, that’s what I want you to do in this assignment.
Summary is NOT necessary!!!
Your essay should address the following issues (in no particular order):
• What does Slater claim about the effectiveness of current methods of dealing with psychological trauma, and how does she relate it to repression? What evidence does she supply in support of her claim? Do you agree with her stance on this basic issue?
• Is Slater’s view of repression consistent with that of Freud’s? If not, how does it differ?
• What are her conclusions about the use of repression? Do you agree? Support your answer with reasons. Do you have any alternative suggestions? Is it possible that what Slater is labeling repression in some of the examples she cites may be more accurately understood to be a different defense mechanism?

Remember to read the article with a sharp and critical eye. What I definitely DON’t want is a simple summary of the article; I want you to grapple with the many interesting and important issues that Slater raises in this piece and give me a substantive essay that reflects your thinking.
