Management Accounting This assignment has two components:

1. A review of how, in general, ‘management via accounting’ operates in modern managerially-run enterprises, drawing on the Introduction to Chandler, The Visible Hand (1977).

2. An analysis of how ‘management via accounting’ can be applied to keep fuel costs as low as possible at a low-cost airline, while also ensuring that safety is not compromised (using published data from and on Ryanair).

NB: Each question is weighted 50% and has a word limit of 750 words. In each case, you are asked (i) to describe some aspects of ‘management via accounting’ and (ii) to provide some form of reflective or critical evaluation on the ‘management via accounting’ process. To obtain high marks you need to meet both the descriptive and reflective/critical requirements of the question.

Mixed-gender sports

Instructor’s instructions: For the term paper, students are to choose a specific question raised by required course materials (Daphne Spain -gendered spaces) and in lectures, and to apply concepts of gender and space to a historical or contemporary topic of one’s choice. Students are encouraged to delve into matters of personal interest and experience and to explore beyond the boundaries of the course materials such areas as psychoanalytic history, post-structuralist analysis, and sexuality and space issues, as long as the inquiry takes into account required texts.
My paper topic ( it is pre-approved by my professor) :This term paper is for my feminist geography class. On my paper I want to write on whether or not men and women should be segregated in professional sports. There are some sports that are mixed-gender; however, the majority of professional sports are gender-segregated. So in my paper I want to argue for mixed-gender sports, which will give equal opportunities to both men and women. Moreover, since it is feminist geography class, we studied the relationship between space and gender. “Spatial segregation does more than create a physical distance; it also affects the distribution of knowledge women could use to change their position in society” ( Spain). So in my paper I should also include how segregating women and men in sports give less power to women.

Death by Fire

Assignment: This assignment is based on information from the film, Death by Fire. You may watch the film online: https://video.pbs.org/video/1618590505/. After watching the film, please write a response to the question posted separately. This will count as a Point Earning Opportunity (PEO), as we will not hold class during the week of Thanksgiving.
The video presents the case of Cameron Todd Willingham. This assignment focuses on the contemporary issue of capital punishment (as depicted in Death by Fire) but will require you to apply knowledge from Week 12 readings and lectures. Specifically, I will be evaluating your ability to apply your knowledge of the topics covered in class to the topics presented in the film. In other words, you will need to be able to identify how specific examples from the film relate to (are similar to or different from) concepts from lecture, the textbook and class discussions. Successfully doing this will require that you demonstrate mastery and understanding of the course materials (i.e., you will need to explain in your own words any concepts that would not be understood by any educated reader who is not familiar with the topics at hand).
Please answer each of the following questions in 1-2 pages each or 5-6 pages, total (typed, double-spaced, 11 or 12 point font). You may use your textbook and/or notes but should NOT use outside sources (i.e., from the Internet, other than the links included on this sheet) or work with other students. Please do not use direct quotations from the book or supplemental links but rather paraphrase ideas in your own words.

1. Summarize the major facts of Cameron Todd Willingham?s case, as presented in film. These observations are the ?data? that you will need to explain in your essay. Limit this answer to 1 page (double-spaced).

Summarize the major arguments made by proponents of capital punishment (Hint: you will need to define in your own words the 8 bulleted points discussed in lecture). Are there any parallels between these concepts and the film? Provide examples from the film (e.g., the prosecution?s case) that were used in favor of executing Willingham.
Summarize the major arguments made by opponents of capital punishment (Hint: you will need to define in your own words the 4 bulleted points discussed in lecture). Are there any parallels between these concepts and the film? Provide examples from the film (e.g., the defense?s case) that were used to oppose Willingham?s execution.
Summarize the causes of wrongful conviction and execution (Hint: you will need to define in your own words the 7 bulleted points discussed in lecture). Was Cameron Todd Willingham wrongfully executed? Come to your own conclusion and develop an argument based on the facts of case. In other words, make case arguing why or why not using specific concepts from lecture and examples from the film.

Setting Minds at Ease

Here’s What Happened . . .
On the first of May this year, Centervale Police Officer Smith arrested Rosie Greene, a 15-year-old, for stealing several items from a local convenience store. This was just one of several incidents Rosie has been involved in this year. The majority of Rosie’s incidents have been centered on her schoolwork, fights, loitering, and truancy.
The principal has suspended Rosie several times from school. However, Rosie continues to engage in delinquent behaviors. Rosie’s arrest has been widely publicized in the newspaper and on television because Rosie ran from the police after they caught up with her while being truant from school and smoking behind a pizza shop.
You have been working with Centervale’s City Government to propose a plan to reduce juvenile delinquency and prevent further incidents of younger children becoming involved in delinquent behaviors as they grow up.
The principal has asked if you would help the School Board understand more about juvenile delinquency, the juvenile justice system, and particularly Rosie Greene’s situation to help them appropriately respond to parent’s questions and create a new policy. He has asked you to prepare a presentation for the Centervale City School Board’s next meeting.
Here’s What You Need to Do . . .
You are required to develop a PowerPoint presentation with script for the Centervale City School Board. Use APA in-text citations and external sources that are referred to on a corresponding references slide and include the following:
• Differentiate between the juvenile and adult justice systems by first defining the terms crime, delinquent act, and status offense. Because of the School Board’s familiarity with Rosie’s juvenile case, discuss the nature of her offenses by identifying which ones are crimes, delinquent acts, or status offenses.
• Explain to the School Board the origin of juvenile rights and the process of juveniles’ rights while in custody. Address the concerns raised by the school board member who wondered what would happen to Rosie because she ran from the police. Did Rosie’s choice change her rights?
• Compare and contrast juvenile rights to the rights of an adult under similar circumstances. Use Rosie’s case to illustrate to the School Board the similarities and differences of the juvenile and adult justice systems.
• Summarize the juvenile courtroom process using Rosie’s case. Include Rosie’s rights, and identify the courtroom parties who will be present: lawyers, judge, etc. Predict a probable series of events for Rosie’s case and describe how the outcome might be different if Rosie were an adult.
Integrate in your presentation to the School Board your proposed Juvenile Delinquency Reduction Plan from CENTERVALE’S DELINQUENCY PREVENTION PROGRAM
• Describe how the plan might address one or more of the issues presented in Rosie’s situation. Explain the steps in your plan that the School Board may find helpful in their plight to reduce juvenile delinquency throughout the Centervale School System.

Conflict Resolution among interdisciplinary team in Emergency Department

In the Conflict Analysis Paper you learned about the development, escalation, and outcome of a conflict through a step by step exploration of the conflict process. In Renegotiating health care: Resolving conflict to build collaboration, Leonard Marcus (1995) suggested a 10 step problem-solving process to resolve conflict. For this paper you will apply the Marcus (1995) 10 steps to the conflict you previously analyzed, identify the collaborative alternative dispute resolution (ADR) appropriate to the conflict, create shared resolutions to the conflict, anticipate future conflict, and integrate conflict resolution processes in your health care work setting. Fully answer the discussion prompts in each step in writing this paper. Your discussion will demonstrate understanding of conflict resolution and the ADR approach you select.

Please follow the instructions above and guide yourself by the Conflict Analysis Paper that I will be attaching. Also, It is mandatory to follow all the 10 steps of the conflict resolutions mentioned in the text book:

Marcus, L. J., Dorn, B. C., & McNulty, E. J. (2011). Renegotiating health care. Resolving conflict to build collaboration (2nd ed.). San Francisco, CA: Jossey-Bass.

Charles Holden’s1932 design for Arnos Grove tube station was part of a network of stylistically similar new stations.Compare this with the eclecticism of the recent Jubilee line extension stations and discuss their different aesthetic and social ambitions

Information alone is not enough, you need to develop arguments and points of view. Be a tough, accurate and fair critic, consider the ideas of other critics and designers, but don’t forget to express your own well reasoned and evidenced opinions. Your essay needs to have a bibliography attached after your conclusion.• You CAN use lots of other images, but do also say where your illustrations come from.
