When you write a Short Paper, you need to follow the guidelines listed below:
1. Use MLA manuscript format without a cover page. Click on the link above called Tips for 1120 Short Papers doc. Open it up and save it on your computer. Backspace Name and type your name. Go into View, then Header Footer and backspace and delete Last Name put your Last name in the header. Resave this document. Now open it again and use it to type up Short Paper 1. Delete Center Title and put in the Title of Short Paper 1. Remember to capitalize the first letter of each major word in your title. Now resave this as Short Paper 1.

Add a title, and number your pages using correct MLA format
2. Read all the assigned essays. Then decide, for yourself, which essay you most disagree with.
3. Write a short essay in which you explain clearly why you disagree with the argument presented in one of the essays.
Explain your position in an essay that has an introduction that refers to the essay and author to which you are responding. Put your claim in your introduction. Give reasons and use evidence to support your claim. Use at least one quotation and one paraphrase from the essay to argue your position and document these quotations using parenthetical citations (inserting the name of the writer and page on which the quote was found in parentheses following the quote or paraphrase).
