The aims and learning outcomes for this module, as stated on the module guide, are as follows:
• Students will be able to analyse acts of persuasion and identify rhetorical and instrumental approaches to persuasion
• Students will be able to identify approaches to influencing and power structures inherent in the process of influencing
• Students will be able to construct persuasive communication acts and reflect on them.
You should bear these aims and learning outcomes in mind when approaching the essay.
