Project Description
An individual student project. The student is expected to write an essay on one aspect of cross-cultural marketing communication issues in both a theoretical, as well as a specific workplace context (case situations of the student’s own choice). The essay must include a review of appropriate literature, clear definitions and explanations of terms and concepts used – including a critical analysis of the relevant case situation(s) chosen from a credible journal or textbook source(s).
The topic is:
Cultural Diversity: Obstacle or Competitive Advantage in transnational marketing communications? Discuss, providing specific case examples in support of both interpretations.
Structure of the Assignment
The essay must include – in addition to a “creative” working title:
1. An introductory discussion referring to the importance of the chosen topic within the context of a cross-cultural business environment, including a Thesis Statement which summarizes the content and argument of the essay;
2. Definitions and theory section – highlighting all specific concepts and terms referred to in the essay;
3. A critical literature review section, including views from relevant authors;
4. Case situation summary/ies, as related to the essay theme;
5. Critical analysis section, connecting theory to the chosen case situation(s);
6. Conclusion, referring back to the Title and Thesis Statement; and
Format of the Project:
The project should be prepared as a neatly typed Word document (Times New Roman or Arial 12 points), with double spacing and page numbering. Including Title page and Table of Contents reflecting the paper’s requested structure.
