You are to select a country and provide the following information (include subheadings):
1. Population statistics (such as life expectancy, mortality/morbidity rates, infant mortality, most common causes of death, common causes of morbidity, infectious disease rates, access to clean water/sanitation, economic indicators, etc.)
2. Diseases considered endemic to the area (include discussion of common vectors, if any);
3. Historical epidemics/outbreaks of importance (up to 20 yrs ago); include rates or number of affected.
4. Recent outbreaks/epidemics (20 yrs to present); include rates or number of affected.
5. Historical and current sociocultural and political situation in the country that has or may affect public health;
6. Historical and current public health situation (sanitation, water, food, etc); also include major organization(s) involved (government and NGOs) and their roles;
7. Other environmental conditions that have affected or may affect public health conditions (i.e, climate, landscape, etc);
8. What are the current control/preventive measures; discuss the gaps in what?s being done and what needs to be done. Include discussion of where and how health educators may fill those gaps.
You must provide sufficient information for each of the above sections. I expect you to use a combination of peer-reviewed research articles and/or books, along with reliable internet sources.
