Each student shall select a chapter from the FBC (florida building code) and analyze the entire chapter or concentrate on only one topic. For example the student may select Chapter 9 in its
entirety, or limit the paper to the topic of automatic fire sprinklers only.
The paper shall analyze and articulate the relevant provisions, outline the benefit of the code requirement, and express his ideas over how the specific requirement or chapter promotes and contributes to the protection of property, life safety, public health, and general welfare. The student is encouraged to research historical events, catastrophes or instances where human life was put at risk due to the lack or inadequate compliance with the code minimum standards.
