Assessment 4: Scanning Report- Individual
1. You have been asked by a senior manager of the Oil Search company to investigate: How do we influence change in organisations (ours and others) and what that might mean for our business?
2. This will involve you thinking about: what is involved in motivating individuals to change and how does this work in an organisational setting? What external factors might encourage organisations to change?
3. Develop an environmental scanning framework based on external factors that might encourage organisation to change.
4. Undertake a scan that includes at least 10 hits.
5. Analyse information using Futures wheels to mark event or possibility/ies and then consider consequences to find the pattern of possible outcome
6. Use information from Futures Wheels and analyse its possibility by creating a Simple Cross Impact Matrix with positive, negative and neutral impact
7. From your findings write a report 1500 words, including your findings and recommendations answering the question: How do we influence change in organisations and what that might mean for the business?

10. This work is to be handed in electronically using MS Word,with margins of 2cm, using Times Roman or Arial at 12pt. All work must be accompanied by a signed coversheet .
