Was class or race more influential in shaping African American experiences from the late 1960s through the 1980s? If you believe that both have been determinative, then make a case for the importance of both. Make your argument based on evidence taken from the Orleck, Wilson, Schlosser and Obama readings. Remember to think about race and class in terms of state policies and laws, as well as any other factors.
Preparation:
