To demonstrate scientific literacy, scientific observation, an understanding of scientific methods and applied analytical thinking, the student will have to critically read about, interpret, and analyze a physiological abnormal condition or disease. The student will submit a 2-page (double spaced, 11-12 fonts) essay. The essay will compare and contrast the normal and abnormal physiological condition of a human pathology. The student is expected to discuss in detail the normal condition and to compare it to the diseased condition in humans. The essay should also include at least one clinical diagnostic tool. The topic must be covered by the textbook, but external peer-reviewed sources may also be included (with proper references). Please check with librarian or your instructor if you are unsure as to whether a source is peer-reviewed. WebPages are NOT acceptable resources. The essay cannot be presented to any other class (including a repeating of this class) nor will an essay from other classes be accepted.
