Assessment Brief/ Task
The detailed requirements for this task are as follows:
Adelia is a developing country. For two decades the military ruled but now there has been formal democracy for some 7 years. Economic growth has resumed and the export sector (based on raw materials) is doing well. But in the countryside, where 60% of the population live, people depend primarily on agriculture. In the towns, where the remainder live, most depend on the informal economy. Inequality is growing and there have been political protests.
An International Monetary Fund (IMF)/World Bank(WB) report has urged the government to engage more with globalisation which it says will result in more trade, more foreign investment and more knowledge transfer and sustained economic growth.
Before accepting the IMF/WB recommendations you are asked by the head of the government of Adelia to write a report evaluating the risks and possible gains of further globalisation.
