Each album review should
1) discuss the programming for the album (is there a theme, how do the pieces work together, do any pieces seem to not belong, etc.).
2) describe the music performed using proper and appropriate terminology learned in class and/or compare/contrast it with something we’ve listened to (if there are several works on the program it is better to pick three or four and discuss them in detail rather than give a cursory overview of all of them), and
3) should end with a short (at least one page), researched section on one aspect related to the concert (a composer, a work performed, a genre represented, type of ensemble, etc). This is for you to engage with the music and learn about what you heard. You are required to use a minimum of two sources and need to cite those sources properly using MLA, APA, or Chicago Manual style. Reports without the sources being cited will receive no credit for the research section. Serious offenses of plagiarism will be reported to the college.
