You have just been hired by the World Trade Organization (WTO). Your job is to prepare a country report on the country that you have selected(Netherlands). The objective of this report is to give the reader a clear overview of the economic conditions that prevail in your country. Your report should contain the sections I and V outlined below; although, it is not necessary to discuss every issue mentioned under each heading or to use every section in the outline. For the remainder of your paper you should focus on and discuss one specific area of your country�s economy. Your report should contain the information that you feel is the most important for assessing the overall economy of your country. Use your best judgment as to what information you will include in your report, but also, your report should be more than a bare recitation of facts. Your report should be 3-5 pages, typed, and double-spaced.
General Outline
I. General Background
a. Size (Population, GDP)
b. Level of development (GDP per capita, life expectancies, literacy, etc.)
c. Inequality and Poverty (Inequality measures, poverty rates)
d. System of government (Political and Social Freedom)
e. Growth performance over past few years (growth in GDP per capita, labor productivity, savings)
f. Factor endowments (skill level/education of labor force, natural resources, capital levels)
II. Overall assessment of the country�s performance
a. What, in your opinion, is the country doing right?
b. What, in your opinion, is the country doing wrong?
c. What do you feel needs changing?
