Description: There are two (2) parts to this assignment-
1. You will develop an in-depth understanding of Testicular Cancer by completing the research, and then will create an original paper using APA formatting
2. Present a Patient Case Study based on Testicular Cancer and develop a flow diagram based on a Clinical Case Study.

DIRECTIONS: PLEASE REFER TO GRADING RUBRIC CRITERIA BELOW FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT!

Reference list (a minimum of 5 current references) Also included in this assignment, you will analyze a patient case study with Testicular Cancer as your paper and develop a concept map or flow diagram = conceptual diagram
The specific case can be actual or fictional. The case study analysis should include a description of the case, probable signs and symptoms displayed by a patient with this disease process, possible complications, and diagnostic tests which would be indicated with expected results. Next, thoroughly describe medical and nursing treatment, including a nursing care plan with comprehensive interventions, client-centered outcomes and evaluation. Your presentation should focus on information the practicing clinical nurse needs to know to provide appropriate care for a patient experiencing this disease process or condition.
A flow diagram shows pathophysiological relationships regarding the disease process, antecedents, actions, clinical manifestations, and nursing diagnoses (3). Please see below for more information relating to flow diagrams.

Info about Conceptual Diagram:
Conceptual diagrams are useful in studying and learning the relationship between physiological and pathophysiological concepts and the development of clinical manifestations, which then leads to more ease in using the nursing process in caring for patients.
Start with blank paper, and write down everything you know about your patient… color code to relationships, draw lines connecting relationships.
Conceptual diagrams are simple methods of showing relationships (arrows or some other visual representation of cause-effect). This is accomplished through the use of arrows and sequencing events. Information that is usually included is etiology or risk factors, and pathophysiologic changes occurring in the body resulting in the patient’s typical signs and symptoms. Usually a medical diagnosis is used as the topic to diagram as we will be doing with this assignment. However, a normal homeodynamic mechanism could be diagramed as well.
Conceptual diagrams emphasize causal relationships so they are clearer than expressing the same content in written text. Each arrow indicates a cause. Some of the possible questions that can be addressed are: What causes organ damage? How did the injury cause the specific clinical manifestations? What signs or symptoms were caused by adaptive responses? This method of learning and presentation will enhance memory links and conceptual understanding of the sequencing of events.
Suggested outline of the conceptual diagram follows as it relates to your specific case study:
a. Title: Title of the flow diagram Testicular Cancer should be placed prominently. Antecedents: Etiology or risk factors that lead to the development of the disease should be included. Arrows should be used from the antecedents to actions to patient’s signs and symptoms. Provide a minimum of 3 different antecedents with each antecedent leading to an action.
b. Actions: Actions are the body’s response to the pathology or stimulation of adaptive responses, including pathophysiologic changes at the cellular and tissue level. Each action then leads to clinical manifestations.
c. Clinical Manifestations: These manifestations are the subjective and objective data you would expect to observe in a patient experiencing this condition. Remember to include any abnormal diagnostic results (lab findings, diagnostic procedures). At this point, you should see and be able to explain visually why the above patient has cystic fibrosis. The manifestations as detailed will lead to appropriate nursing diagnoses.

d. Nursing Diagnoses- should be able to visualize how these are related to this specific patient case study via use of arrows
