This exercise is designed for you to take a step back and take a meta-analytical approach to three of these journals; that is, to look at the general flavor (if there is one) of each of the selected journals.
Your task is to compare and contrast Archaeologies, American Antiquity, and the Journal of Social Archaeology, in terms of how they serve the interests of the archaeological profession. Is there substantial overlap/similarity?; substantial diversity?; different themes emphasized”;
and so on. This is also an excuse to get you exploring these journals.
