Structured Analysis: what is ‘evidence’?
Evidence includes examples of your work from the internship that supports your analysis. It can include:
• Informal: quotes from your reflection notes
• Formal: academic references and key examples from the field
• Portfolio examples: video, images, text etc. (consider confidentiality)
For both portfolio examples and examples or descriptions of creative/professional processes you MUST consider confidentiality issues (what already is and isn’t in the public domain)
This work can include:
• Excerpts of writing
• Relevant planning/scheduling documents you produced
• Links to clips on YouTube
• Links to sites, rich media (publicly available)
• Press releases
• Examples of design work (screenshots)
• Photographs
• Anything else that’s relevant
Professional Advice
• Provide one piece of professional advice for future students
• Base advice on what you have learned
• Relate advice to the profession or the field at large
Consider your expectations at the start of your internship (refer back to initial journal entries and your proposed role) and consider how you would approach these expectations now.
Can you give some advice to students who may want to share similar experiences?
Ethics
One of your (general) entries must address an ethics scenario. Approach ethics in the same manner as any other journal entry: with a structured analysis.
Key difference: refer to theory on ethics in Lecture 2 to support discussion.
