• Research question: Appropriate breadth and realistic within the time frame and resources typically used in an undergraduate dissertation
• Research objectives: SMART, clearly defined; in line with the research question; realistic
• Initial Literature review: Appropriate literature is reviewed with clear attempts at critical evaluation; academic articles are used; literature is relevant and consistent with the topic area
• Proposed methods: Rationale for proposed methods clearly indicated and supported with references; methods clearly link to the literature
• Limitations: Potential limitations, biases and constraints are identified and clearly indicated
• Ethical considerations: Ethical issues relating to the proposed methods and have been addressed appropriately against NBS and University guidelines
• Work plan: Realistic time plan; includes all major parts of the research project
• Expected significance of the research: Indication of significance of the research is made clear
