Sensitivity of Immediate and Delayed Gadolinium-Enhanced MRI after Injection of Gadolinium contrast for Detecting Multiple Sclerosis Lesions.

The purpose of my study is to compare the efficacy of cranial MR images obtained immediately, 5 minutes ,10 minutes, and 15 minutes after the injection of gadolinium contrast in the detection of active multiple sclerosis (MS) lesions.

MATERIALS AND METHODS:
A group of 30 patients with Multiple sclerosis MS will be examined with MRI gadolinium contrast agent using T1-weighted spin-echo images. Then this group will be divided into 3 different groups in term of delay time after injection. The first group will be scanned immediately then with 5 minutes delay. The second group will be scanned immediately then with 10 minutes delay. The last group will be scanned immediately then with 15 minutes delay.

After acquiring the data from all the patients, gadolinium- enhanced T1-weighted images will be evaluated in term of the ability of detecting active lesions with time and in term of their technical measurement. The first part will be done by counting the lesions number by three different expert radiologists at different times to compare the sensitivity of detection more or less lesions and the later will be done by using ImageJ software as a scientific measurement.

the dissertation should include these topics;
1) What is MRI and its coils? .
2) What is MRI contrast? .
3) What is Multiple Sclerosis? .
4) The different modality for diagnosing patient with MS and what is its indications.
5) The typical scanning parameters for these cases in MRI and what is the typical fixed time that is going to be used to acquire images for all patients?.
6) please build the dissertation to include the experimental study and the data analysis but I will do it myself later on then I will send it to you to edit it.
Experimental study on the groups with different delay time with the same dose/weight (0.1 ml/Kg) from the same contrast agent.
a) Doing the routine case then to add more sequence with 5 minutes delay.
b) a) Doing the routine case then to add more sequence with 10 minutes delay.
c) Doing the routine case then to add more sequence with 15 minutes delay.

7) Data analysis
a) using expert radiologists to evaluate the increase in active lesion counts in different delay times.
b) Using IMAGEJ software to evaluate which time will be the best for a better visualization for the disease.

8) Conclusion to evaluate the whole project.

please note : I will need the same writer after I have collected the data so he/she can edit my work afterwards.
thanks a lot
