Q&A:
1. Should I use a framework, theory or model to structure my answer to question 1?
You could use an appropriate framework if you feel this would help you structure your answer but the focus of the question is on outlining the key elements of the HR strategy and how it is linked to the corporate strategy.

2.Should I read more articles about the Disney company in order to complete the assignment?
There is no expectation that you should read more about Disney specifically as everything you need for your answer is in the case. However, if you want to read more then please do go ahead but remember you need to focus your answer on analysing the case material and linking this to relevant theories and frameworks. I would advise against using up too much wordcount in describing Disney based on additional material which would reduce the amount of space you have to talk about the relevant theories.
3. How do I know what the ‘key elements’ of an HR strategy are?
If you look at Chapter 7 of the textbook [please reference the book ‘Strategic Human Resource Management’ (Truss, C., David, M., Kelliher, C.)], there is further information about HR strategy from both a content and a process perspective. In analysing the Disney case study for this assignment, the focus is on the content issues in relation to questions 1 and 2 and potentially on both process and content for question 3, depending on how you choose to answer this. It is important to read the case study carefully, including the exhibits at the end, and think about what the case says about Disney’s overarching strategic approach to managing people.

4. Do I have to read other articles to get a good mark?
You should aim to read some other relevant material such as journal articles and practitioner material from sources such as the CIPD website. Lists of suggested further reading are available on Study Direct and there are also references in each book chapter that you might find useful. I don’t want to be too prescriptive about what you should read as this element of independent research is an important part of completing the assignment!

Some important supplement:
1. please reference and use the theory or tools from the book ‘Strategic Human Resource Management’ (Truss, C., David, M., Kelliher, C.). Chapters 1-8 are all relevant but particularly chapters 5, 6 and 7! this book is important. And look the lecture slide I upload.
