Transcription factors as bio markers in cancer diagnosis

The question is
Transcription factors control the cell fate choice of undifferentiated cells. Certain transcription factors are almost always expressed in tumour cells – indicating proto-oncogene function of those transcription factors (eg: c-MYC). This project will review the expression patterns of MAF family of transcription factors and their co-relation in multiple myeloma. Moreover, expression patterns in cell line will be co-related with genomic variation using Sanger centre Copy Number Variation Analysis.
