Your job is not to evaluate credentials, only presentation skills. Do not evaluate the presentation as an online presentation; instead, use your imagination to evaluate it as if you are an audience member in the live presentation.

Discuss the following areas ,where possible.

a) Basic details: Name of speaker, title of speech, purpose of the speech in the first paragraph.

b) Audience analysis: Details on the audience for the speech, such as size, demographics, psychographics, if apparent. How did the speaker deliberately shape the message to appeal to the needs and interests of the audience? How could the speaker have improved his/her appeal to the audience?

c) Environment: Many factors affect the speaker?s ability to connect effectively with the audience. Consider such issues as room set-up, the introduction of the speaker, the sound system, the use of technology, and the procedure for asking questions. Which aspects worked well? Which aspects could have been improved?

d) Content analysis: Consider whether the topic was well developed and well organized and draw a conclusion based on your knowledge of the issue the speaker discussed. What areas, if any, should have received more attention? What areas could the speaker have spent less time on? Why?

e) Delivery: Consider such areas as professional dress, gestures, use of space, eye contact, use of appropriate language and other strengths or weaknesses.

Follow the direct organizational style.
? Introduction: Succinctly state the purpose of the memo, follow the advice in letter ?a? above, and indicate the basic speech topic. Describe the speech setting (Podium? Microphone? Flowers? Water? Other people on the dais?)
? Body: Arrange the information so that it flows easily from one section to another. Use SUBHEADINGS that make it easy to skim. Use bulleted or numbered lists when it makes sense to do so.
