In Part One, explain, by citing specific examples from the text, how The Comedy of Errors portrays the transition from feudal to early modern socio-legal circumstances.
In the remaining three parts, discuss, respectively, The Merchant of Venice, Cymbeline, and The Tempest, explaining, for each play, which elements reflect those already evident in the preceding plays, and which elements add some new insight into the emerging conditions of socio-legal modernity. For Parts Two, Three and Four, if any elements appear to blend both types—i.e., to display both an obvious continuation of, but also clear innovation within themes present in any preceding play—feel free to analyse such elements from both perspectives.
In addition to those four main parts, include also an Introduction and a Conclusion. Thoughtful recourse to secondary sources generally strengthens essays.
