1. Choose a topic related to an economic or social variable (Educational attainment, employment or unemployment, sales of a company, years of schooling etc.)
2. Collect data on the variable of your choice for at least 1 country/ company. I encourage the projects using data covering more than one country (to allow for comparative analysis) and time series data.
3. Use the appropriate descriptive statistics and graphs we have learned in class to present and describe your data. And, analyze the major observations?
4. Based on the (2, 3 and 4) above, prepare a report (around 5-7 pages) with the following outline:
a. Introduction:
i. What is your research question (the main objective of your project)?
b. Data:
i. What is your data source(s)?.
ii. Which country(ies) and point in time does your data cove?
iii. What kind of information does your data contain?
c. Descriptive Statistics on the data:
i. Use of the relevant graphs and tables to describe your data [you’ll need to provide me with the excel sheets].
d. Analysis and conclusion
i. Analyze the major observations that you found using the descriptive statistics techniques.
e. References.
