You are going to do some “evaluation” of three ideological responses to African Americans being relegated to second-class citizens after Reconstruction ends in 1877. The three African American exemplars you are going to evaluate are: Booker T. Washington, W. E. B. DuBois and Ida B. Wells-Barnett. There ideologies are: Washington–accommodation ideology (practical/vocational training methodology); DuBois–immediate total equality ideology (liberal arts education/political, economic and social integration methodology); and Wells-Barnett–total gender equality (utilizing the press and economic boycotting methodology). Here is your task :Do Internet research on Washington, DuBois and Barnett so that you know their background. Read the information about them in your TEXTBOOK as well, but do not rely on it alone. After you have done this, you will then write a one-page, double-spaced evaluation of ONE of the African American Exemplar’s Intellectual Thought. You are writing about the exemplar you believe has to best plan for the “Negro Problem”. Your evaluation should be “evidence-based”. (i.e. your Internet Research, textbook information, information f.) You will need to attach a Bibliography listing the Internet sources you consult, your textbook and the excerpt information. I will put a sample Bibliography showing how to cite your textbook and the videoclips; however, you must cite your Internet sources correctly using the Turabian/Chicago format.
