Mongol

Although Bodrov’s movie, Mongol, borrows phrases and episodes from The Secret History of the Mongols and Zhao Gong’s account of the Mongols, he alters the substance so radically that the resulting picture of Chinggis Khan is fundamentally distorted. The movie’s vision tells us nothing reliable about how people at the time viewed Chinggis Khan.
Format:
Approximately 1,000 words (roughly 4 pages): please double space and use a 12-point font. All block quotes, however, must be single spaced. You must cite your sources consistently using an identifiable style (e.g. Chicago, APA, MLA, etc.). For this essay, proper mechanics (spelling, grammar, citations) will figure heavily into the final grade. You are to have a separate title page (not included in the page count). This title page should have only your name along with the essay title, date, and class/section information. Your name should appear nowhere in the body of the essay (for example, no header or footer with your name on it).
