Two parents who are each known to be carriers of an autosomal recessive allele have four children Custom Paper

Two parents who are each known to be carriers of an autosomal recessive allele have four children. None of the children has the recessive condition.

What is the probability that two or more of the children are the carriers of the recessive allele?

(To calculate this type of probability, you must consider all possible birth orders of carriers. For example, if a question asked what is the probability the one of two children is a carrier, there are two possible orders: 1) first child is a carrier, second child is not a carrier 2) first child is not a carrier, second child is a carrier. Calculate the probability of each possible occurance and add the probabilities together to get the overall chance that one child is a carrier. )

Prepare Rationale Argument Map 4 on the basis of one of Wilson’s contentions about the Theory of Evolution Custom Paper

Prepare Rationale Argument Map 4 on the basis of one of Wilson’s contentions about the Theory of Evolution in Chapters 11 through 15. Your map should show four elements:
1. One main Contention presented in the chapter–What is that argument? Keep it to one simple sentence!
2. At least two reasons why readers should agree with the contention;
3. At least one objection discussed by Wilson;
4. At least one rebuttal to either an objection presented by Wilson.

An Argument Map 3 from 2012 is posted below. It shows three simple arguments from Wilson’s Chapter 10, each with only one reason and co-premises. For AM4, you will need to have two reasons and at least one objection and rebuttal. Your map will have several reasons and objections, and probably several levels, too. Follow these steps:
• Show an important argument of the chapter as the map’s contention;
• Indicate and correctly map at least two reasons used to support the contention; add premises and relevant co-premises;
• Indicate and correctly map two objections used to oppose the contention; add premises and relevant co-premises;
• Add any rebuttals you gleaned from reading Wilson’s chapter;
• As a final step, indicate whether or not you find the argument compelling – Do you agree? Why? What do you find convincing? Add commentary as needed to explain your conclusion. You can use the little ‘stickies’ to do so.

Lateral violence: The opportunity to explore in depth lateral-violence in the workplace, a pressing issue in the nursing environment Custom Paper

This course also provides you with the opportunity to explore in depth lateral-violence in the workplace, a pressing issue in the nursing environment. This assignment provides you with increased skills in how to research topics in the library, make sure you have an understanding of peer-reviewed journals, allow for continued skill development in APA format, and the ability to more finely hone your scholarly paper writing.
Background: One issue in Nursing is a paradox: Nursing is known as a caring profession, yet, it is not uncommon to find lateral violence among nurses in the workplace. Embree and White (2010) presented a literature review that analyzed this concept of lateral violence. Sheridan-Leos (2008) identified four theories as to why lateral violence occurs and described the effects of lateral violence. She shared actions that others have recommended to stop lateral violence. Sauer (2011) identified that 25 years of attempts made to eradicate this phenomena in Nursing have not been successful. She presented a case study to demonstrate the extent of the problem.
Instructions: For this assignment, locate these three articles (use the electronic search engines with the Shapiro Library. Articles should be available to you and free). Search for two more articles related to lateral violence in Nursing. Based on the three articles and on the additional articles you found, answer the following question: Who should be responsible for eliminating lateral violence in the nursing workplace? State your position clearly in the thesis statement and use the content in the articles to defend your position.
To be able to answer the question in this assignment, you will have to examine the information presented in the articles, analyze the arguments of each author, weigh the pros and cons of each claim, and decide where you stand on the issue. We will be looking at your ability to integrate and synthesize the articles into a scholarly paper. The body of the paper should be 5-7 pages (not including the title page, abstract, and reference page). The reference page should include the three articles given, plus at least two other peer-reviewed articles you have searched, giving a minimum of 5 sources, but no more than 7 sources.

Resources to help you to be successful in writing scholarly papers, including writing and APA lectures, Scholarly Paper Guidelines, and Shapiro Library guides, are available in the Research/Writing tab in the Blackboard course room. Guidelines are posted in the Start here tab in the document: Resources for all Nursing and Healthcare Professions Courses. Please see the Written Paper Rubric for details of how your paper will be graded.

Governance and Public Policy: Documented Concepts and Principles Custom Paper

Documents created at the inception of American democracy detailed basic democratic concepts and principles under which the Founding Fathers hoped to live. Thomas Jefferson, in the Declaration of Independence, wrote about every man’s fundamental right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The framers of the United States Constitution sought to design a system of government that would help make the ideals of the Declaration of Independence a reality. Today, United States Supreme Court justices refer to the Constitution for guidance as they attempt to adjudicate modern-day conflicts. Much of the influence and authority of the Supreme Court rests in the interpretation of the original concepts and principles of the Constitution. Many publicly debated issues, such as gun control, reproductive rights, and property rights, result from disagreement over basic concepts and principles expressed in the founding documents of democracy.

To prepare for this Discussion:
• Review the Declaration of Independence in this week’s Learning Resources. Focus on the democratic principles outlined in the document.
• Review the transcript of the Constitution of the United States in this week’s Learning Resources. Consider the relationship between the principles summarized in the Constitution and those detailed in the Declaration of Independence.
• Review the article "The Magna Carta and Its American Legacy" in this week’s Learning Resources. Think about how the Magna Carta influenced concepts and principles in founding documents of democracy.
• Peruse the Supreme Court of the United States website and review arguments for current cases.
• Select a democratic concept or principle that is represented in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and Supreme Court cases.
• Think about where and how your selection appears in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution, and how it might be used by a Supreme Court justice in a Supreme Court case.
With these thoughts in mind:
The Assignment/discussion – 4 paragraphs (1 page single file or 2 pages double space) APA style of writing

An explanation of the democratic concept or principle you selected for this Discussion and why you selected it. Then explain where and how it appears in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. Be specific and cite where it can be found in each document. Finally, explain how the concept or principle might be used by a Supreme Court justice in a modern-day Supreme Court case to adjudicate a current conflict.

Literature on Democratic Governance (GRADUATE LEVEL WORK): In this week’s Discussion, you analyzed founding documents of American democracy to determine how democratic concepts and principles are manifested in those early writings Custom Paper

In this week’s Discussion, you analyzed founding documents of American democracy to determine how democratic concepts and principles are manifested in those early writings. For this Application Assignment, you are asked to shift your thoughts to current scholarly writings on democratic governance. As with any analysis of academic literature, good scholarship requires the ability to evaluate the validity and usefulness of published works. You probably know from past experience that information presented in a peer-reviewed journal article is more acceptable in academic circles than an article on the same topic in a grocery store tabloid. A major part of researching current literature on democratic governance is to explore various written works and evaluate them based on your own understanding. Many of the older and simpler rules that scholars once used to evaluate the usefulness of publications have been rendered less useful as a result of modern electronic media. Therefore, using a variety of tools such as electronic databases and the Internet to locate scholarly works is essential. The Internet has led to an enormous increase in the amount of information available to you as a scholar; however, like any other academic literature, Internet information should be carefully examined for quality and credibility. Finding current literature on democratic governance that is valid requires research using the highest standards of evaluation.

To prepare for this assignment:

•Review the article “Distinguishing Scholarly Journals from Other Periodicals” in this week’s Learning Resources. Reacquaint yourself with criteria and standards for evaluating scholarly literature.
•Peruse the Walden library, academic databases, and the Internet for current literature on democratic governance.
•Consider the tools and instruments you use to locate credible published works on democratic governance.
•Reflect on the quality and credibility of current literature on democratic governance. You should use the Internet to search for resources that outline criteria you might use to evaluate scholarly writing.
•Select a journal article, a book, and a website to evaluate for this assignment.
•Think about the criteria/standards you would use to evaluate the resources that you selected, and consider each one in terms of these elements.
The assignment (3 pages):

•Briefly describe each of the resources you selected.
•Evaluate each using appropriate criteria. Cite the criteria you used.
•Draw at least one conclusion about quality and credibility of current literature on democratic governance.
•Share insights about what you learned as a result of your evaluation.
Support your Application Assignment with specific references to all resources used in its preparation. You are asked to provide a reference list only for those resources not included in the Learning Resources for this course.

It is commonly observed that bad things can happen to good people: why is this supposed to be a problem for those who believe in God? Custom Paper

It is commonly observed that bad things can happen to good people: why is this supposed to be a problem for those who believe in God? Describe and critically analyse some of the responses that believers can make to this problem.

I have found in the past that in answering questions concerning God, normally people are inclined to reference popular religious websites or apologetical literature. This is usually a bad idea, since the relevant issues are not usually covered with appropriate thoroughness or philosophical sophistication. Kindly focus on the arguments and counterarguments (and counter-counter arguments) as they are given in respectable philosophical sources. *
Also kindly look at the marking criteria, which be uploaded in my account.
