Bauhaus Manifesto

Your textbook describes design in light of the Bauhaus manifesto.

According to the Bauhaus Design History (http://designhistory.org/Bauhaus_pages/BauhausOrigins.html), what was so new about the Bauhaus modern art school “was its attempt to integrate the artist and the craftsman, to bridge the gap between art and industry.” It goes on to explain that “mass production was the god, and the machine aesthetic demanded reduction to essentials, an excision of the sentimental choices and visual distractions that cluttered human lives.”

Keeping this in mind, explain the concept of design in your own words. Compare and contrast it with art, and explain how “cluttering” a design with unnecessary elements can have a potentially negative impact on the message it bears. Finally, depending on the first letter of your last name, use the Web to find at least one visual communication piece (e.g., a website, an advertisement, a logo, etc.) that either exemplifies Bauhaus’ concept of design or does not. Then, describe why.

EQUITY

ESSAY QUESTION:- “Equity is as long as the Chancellor’s foot.”
Critically discuss this statement.

FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS ITS AN OPEN QUESTION SO MAKE ITS VERY STRUCTURED

MAKE SURE:-
-THE ESSAY IS 3500 WORDS,3000 WORDS ESSAY AND MAKE SURE THAT 500 WORDS ARE THE ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY MAKE SURE TO EXPLAIN HOW THE SOURCES USED WERE RELEVANT TO ANSWERING THE ESSAY
1. DO NOT give us a 3500 word history lesson on the above points. A simple regurgitation of how equity and the trust developed is not an acceptable answer to the question;
2. DO NOT just list the maxims of equity and explain what they are. We know what the maxims are and how they work. We expect much more from you than this;
3. DO NOT just list a few cases that are vaguely on the topic of equity generally;
4. DO NOT just rely on textbooks and your lecture notes. We will know if you have done this as your bibliography will be poor to non-existent, and your essay will be basic, descriptive and sound very familiar to us;

Conflict Resolution

The Conflict Analysis Paper requires the utilization of key concepts discussed in the course, as well as integrating outside sources, and apply them to the analysis of a conflict. You will identify a specific conflict within your healthcare work setting in which you were involved, or choose a conflict you observed or were aware. Using this conflict situation, you will analyze the development, escalation, and outcome(s) of conflict through a step by step exploration of the conflict process. In order to protect that privacy of the organization and the people involved, change real names to pseudonyms. You will choose either the Conflict Mapping (Wehr, 1979) model or the TRIP (Wilmot & Hocker, 2010) model to analyze the conflict and identify the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) approach (negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or facilitation) appropriate to manage the conflict. Manuscript Preparation: The analysis paper will follow APA 6 (2010) style and format. Double-space the manuscript and use the 12-pt plain font Times New Roman. Format the paper with margins of 1″ on all four sides. Include a title page with a running head and insert page numbers in the upper right corner. Please follow the example of a title page in the APA (2010) manual. The analysis paper will end with a separate reference page. Please follow the references examples in the APA manual. Text Requirements: Begin the main text on a separate page. The analysis needs to reflect your original insights and perceptions and include 7-10 in-text citations that will connect your discussion points and examples to your references. Format the in text citations according to APA (2010) style and format. When you connect your discussion points and examples to your references, paraphrase another author’s work with citation, or include short quotations for which you provide the correct citation with pagination. Therefore, the majority of each paragraph will include more than just quotes of another author’s work. The length of the text excludes the title and references pages. References: The analysis paper references must include the course text and a minimum of at least three (4) additional references from academic sources such as journals, books, and academic online sources in APA 6 (2010) style and format. APA 6 requires in text citations of every reference. Please note: Wikipedia. Endnotes, or similar online websites, and abstracts of articles are not appropriate sources for this level of writing. Abbreviations and Symbols: Write out the full term and place the abbreviation or acronym in parentheses at the first use. Afterwards, use only the abbreviation in your text.

In Renegotiating health care: Resolving conflict to build collaboration, Leonard Marcus (1995) suggested a 10 step problem-solving process (pp. 28-43) to reduce conflict:
Step one: Accept conflict
Describe how the original conflict was framed.
Describe a constructive reframing of the conflict.
Discuss how the reframe will move the conflict process towards problem-solving.
Step two: Recognize the consequences
Describe the costs of the conflict in time and morale for the conflict parties.
Describe the costs of the conflict in terms of quality of patient care.
Discuss the potential long term impact on healthcare organization if the conflict is unresolved, or retreats to the background, simmering unseen.
Step three: Formalize the motive
Describe motives for each party to resolve the conflict.
Discuss how the motive of appearance will enhance problem-solving.
Choose the ADR process (negotiation, mediation, facilitation, and/or arbitration) that will resolve the conflict and discuss the reasons for your choice.
Step four: Begin the learning process
Discuss two commonalities (feelings, experiences) the parties share. Describe how empathy can help the parties to understand their differences. Relate how recognition and respect emerged through the learning process.
Step five: Find the logic
Describe what the conflict was really about.
Discuss how the positions in the conflict can be reframed into shared needs and interests. Describe what each party hopes to achieve in solving the conflict.
Step six: Check the choices
Describe what changes each party will consider to resolve the conflict.
Discuss possible solutions each party can offer resolve the conflict i.e., a meeting, an exchange, an agreement, a compromise, an apology.
Choose specific actions each party will do to resolve the conflict
Step seven: Ponder the possibilities
Describe what the parties accomplished through collaborative problem-solving. Discuss the tangible rewards to the organization from the solution.
Discuss intangible rewards of conflict resolution; satisfaction, peacefulness, and hope.
Step eight: Find common purpose
Discuss how conflict resolution can positively impact the workplace setting as a whole. Describe how conflict resolution can constructively impact the system of health care. Discuss what ADR process
Step nine: Anticipate conflict
Discuss what potential conflicts might emerge in the future.
Describe how to recognize signs of problems before issues escalate into conflict. Describe what the parties can do to prevent and manage conflicts in the future.
Step ten: Move beyond conflict
Discuss how the healthcare setting can incorporate conflict resolution into policy and procedures to prevent future conflicts.

Conversation about STD’s

The basic communication model consists of a sender having an idea, the sender encoding the idea into a message, the message traveling over a mediated channel, the receiver decoding the message, and the receiver responding with feedback.
Nonverbal communication, consisting of all unwritten and unspoken messages, includes eye contact, facial expression, tone of voice, posture, touch, intensity, timing and pace, and sounds that convey understanding.
Most messages reach their destination, but are disrupted due to communication barriers.
Sexual communication can be improved if partners are willing.
One way to improve general communication skills is to learn to express oneself with confidence. Assertiveness means standing up for your basic rights without violating anyone else’s rights.
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are infections that can be contracted through sexual intimacy. There are also diseases of the sexual organs referred to as sexually related diseases (SRDs), which can occur in both sexually active and sexually inactive individuals. More frequent sex and earlier sex have meant an increase in the number of people subjected to STIs.
————————————————–

ASSIGNMENT:Imagine a scenario in which you and a new partner are discussing testing for sexually transmitted infections. Devise a strategy for addressing this issue with your partner. Write out a role-play conversation with your partner using the effective communication strategies discussed in this lesson.

In addition, discuss how MULTI-NATIONAL organisations need to modify reward systems to suit the cultural context in different countries. Use academic and practitioner literature to support your argument.

Please include this in the report:
1. Introduction(brief outline of the topic and your argument)

2. Relevant literature review synthesising key academic and practitioner journal
articles and other literature related to a discussion of the topic area

3. Identifying best practices or issues and problems (what issues and problems or
best practices of organisations did you find through readings?)

4. Discussion and analysis (how could the issues and problems identified be
addressed by using a set of HR solutions/strategies?)

5. Conclusion(what are your key points of learning / findings and recommendations for
organisations?)

Patient Beliefs.

Topic 1: Patient Beliefs
Fundamental to the nursing professional role is the ability to approach patients with a nonjudgmental attitude. Nurses are responsible for demonstrating respect for the patients’ rights to their own beliefs, even when the patients’ beliefs are vastly different from those of the nurse. Consider an example that you have come across in your work place or from the assigned readings.

Topic 1: Patient Beliefs (p 2)
Reflect on how you would prepare to address the differences between your beliefs and those of the patient and the family, and consider any experiences or feelings you have related to this situation. Discuss strategies for dealing with this situation in a nonjudgmental way, and be sure to incorporate the following elements of critical thinking in your answer:

•Identify the issue;

•Formulate inferences;

•Identify faulty reasoning;

•Assess assumptions;

•Formulate conclusions; and

•Assess implications.

Write a Reflective Essay on your Read Aloud exercise to a group of children

Write a 750 word reflective essay describing your exercise reading aloud to a group of children. It should be a well referenced piece of work.

My school experience is with a reception class. I chose to read the book ‘Paddington and the Christmas Surprise’. I was not planning on asking the children questions, but they were keen to engage, so changed the plan as I started reading, based on their level of engagement.

I chose the book because the previous theme for the class was Fairy Tales, and the had just moved on to Christmas. So, stories were Christmas related, and it was linked to a movie.

The teacher observed my task, and gave me good feed back on eye contact and engagement with children. I still have work to do on behaviour management, however, that was my first week in school experience. I said I hoped that I could have had a stronger, better planned plenary end.
