Linguistics Movie and response paper

Cooperative Principle: Choose one of the 4 maxims of the cooperative principle (quantity, relevance, manner, or quality) and break it with at least 3 different people (family members, friends, etc.) who do not know you are purposely violating a maxim. Immediately after the conversations, write down each person’s response to your violation. For example, if you violate the maxim of relevance by announcing your love of baseball while watching the Packers game, you may receive strange looks, follow-up questions regarding your knowledge of sports, or other-initiated repairs such as “you mean football?” Then, provide a 2-3 page response paper that includes the maxim you broke, a brief description of how you broke it, the reactions of at least 3 people to the violation, and the significance of the maxim on maintaining successful communication.

Self and team evaluation

There are two parts to your paper — 1. self-evaluation(two pages) and 2. team evaluation(two pages).
The first part is where you evaluate yourself and how you worked with your team this semester. You can talk about your leadership, cultural, and communication skills within your team. Make sure to use the concepts discussed in the textbook. You can also focus on differences in perceptions, group change, and emotions. How was your behavior during this course and were there any changes.

For the team evaluation, you can cover the concepts discussed in your self-evaluation, and discuss how the team organized during meetings. What behaviors were normal, what behaviors stood out? How did the team organize (e.g., communication, structure). Did anything change from the first to the last meeting? Who were the powerful members of your team and why. How was leadership exhibited in your meetings? Make sure you tie in the concepts from the textbook.

research paper hamlet

Based on Hamlet, write a research paper of 5 to 7 pages with an underlined thesis statement.

A. The Aristotelian definition of tragedy includes the idea of a high-born figure falling from
fortune to a tragic end through some flaw in his/her character. In Shakespeare’s Hamlet the stage is littered with the bodies of nobles whose fatal flaws may or may not have led to their ultimate demise. Write a paper in which you argue that the characters of Hamlet, Claudius, Gertrude, Polonius, Laertes, and Ophelia were either victims of fate or were culpable in their own deaths because of their tragic flaws.

Requirements for the paper: 5 to 7 pages (excluding the works cited page), a works cited page (in MLA format) of 3 to 5 sources, an underlined thesis statement. Do not use Wikipedia or other encyclopedic sources for this paper. Your 3 to 5 sources must be primary sources (no encyclopedia kinds of sources). At least one of these must be from an article in a scholarly journal. Towards the end of the semester when time is short, some students may be tempted to find ready-made papers on line or to “lift” sections out of on-line sources without citation. This constitutes plagiarism. Do not plagiarize the final paper, as I will have no recourse except to give you a zero on it and report it to the Dean.
