Relationship patterns of adults who were physically abused as children

You are to select any theory of development that you have been exposed to through your text and apply it to a particular problem/population (Relationship patterns of adults who were physically abused as children). You will need to review the research on this topic. Before declaring your topic, it is a good idea to see if adequate research exists on which to build your paper. You may use your text as one source. However, you need at least 3-5 additional scholarly resources. This means peer-reviewed journal articles or text book chapters (from a source other than your text for this class) or a combination of both. Unless historical in nature or unless you are trying to demonstrate patterns in the research findings across time, your sources need to be published within the past five years. Remember that the goal of your paper is to discuss the topic of your choice from a developmental perspective. This means the evolution of how something evolves or fails to evolve and what factors contribute to the development or lack thereof of the phenomenon.

There will also be a final project, intended to get you thinking creatively about how
you would teach some of the topics covered in this course. It is also intended to give you
experience working in a group—which is how most work is done in “the real world.”
For this project your group will choose one of the modules from the course and “teach it your
way.” That is, your group should revise, reorganize, update, and otherwise design and produce
the module the way you would like to see it done. You are free to incorporate material from the
existing module, but you are expected to use a substantial amount of other material. It would
probably be very helpful to review students’ “contributions” related to your module.
You should identify appropriate readings, videos, and/ or other materials (“readings”); that covers the topics, they are virtual technology, the rise of independent games and the problem of video game arise. Be creative in your
method of presenting the material, so long as you think it will be effective As you know, graphics can be very
useful in conveying information.

Fortune 500 company essay

Component B
This element accounts for 50% of your final mark. To complete this assignment you must produce a 1,500 +- 10%) word essay based on a company of your choice from the Fortune Global 500 list of companies [http://fortune.com/global500/]. The word count excludes the bibliography. The only constraints on your choice of organization are that normally you should not choose an organization on the list which is being used for case study work in the module, or in any other modules. If you have any queries about this consult your tutor. (Do not use HSBC)

Broadly you are interested in how the organization’s strategy meets geography to influence its competitive performance. Your task is to examine how your chosen organization manages to achieve global competitive advantage. You are expected to employ FOUR COMPONENTS [Home country, Supplier country, Customer country, and Partner country] of Spulber’s (2007) “Star analysis” framework to structure your work. This assessment task requires you to evaluate the global competitive strategy of the organization based on all the four components of the framework.

Please note: This assignment is not a star analysis. You are only expected to use the prescribed four components of the star analysis framework as an organizing device to structure your essay.

The word count excludes the bibliography. Please avoid using appendices- the inclusion of any essential figures and tables in the body of the assignment is preferred.

The key to doing well is to demonstrate that you can discuss theoretical ideas and apply these in an analysis of an organization. The organization may be of any size and established in global markets. Your ability to select a relevant case organization is part of the assignment; therefore, please don’t ask which organization to choose.

The essay MUST be based on secondary sources, i.e. using newspapers, databases, journal articles and websites rather than primary research which would involve actually talking to firms. If you decide to carry out research directly with your chosen organization (e.g. through interviews with organizational members) you will need ethics clearance from the faculty’s ethics committee and this does not sit until after your assignments are due in!

Data Analysis Assignment—Hobbits’ Choice Restaurant

Jeff Dean is a restaurant supply sales representative who has always dreamed of opening his own
restaurant. He is thinking of opening a fine, upscale restaurant featuring the finest entrées, drinks, and
desserts in an elegant atmosphere, which is a type of restaurant missing from his metro area. Dean was a
fan of the author J.R.R. Tolkien, and he thought the reference to the Hobbits would be perfect in a name
for an upscale restaurant. The Hobbits, characters in Tolkien’s writings, were portrayed as good, funloving
people whose lives primarily centered around eating.
To help justify the investment costs of opening such a restaurant and to provide information for his
marketing plan, Dean conducted a marketing research study. The data from his survey are saved in the
Excel file HobbitData.xlsx.
For your data analysis project, please use evidence obtained from analysis of the dataset to address the
questions below. You may cut and paste tables from the computer output into a word processing file, but
you may not turn in a stack of printouts. Each question will be worth 10 points.
1. Perform the appropriate descriptive analysis for each question on the questionnaire and interpret
it.
2. What are the population estimates for each of the following?
a. Preference for “easy listening” radio programming
b. Viewing of 10 P.M. local news on TV
c. Average age of heads of household
d. Average price paid for an evening meal entrée
3. Because Jeff Dean’s restaurant will be upscale, it will appeal to high-income consumers. Jeff
hopes that at least 30 percent of the households have an income level of $100,000 or higher. Test
this hypothesis.
4. With respect to those who are “very likely” to patronize The Hobbits’ Choice restaurant, Jeff
believes that the will either “very strongly” or “somewhat” prefer each of the following: (a)
waitstaff with tuxedos, (b) elegant décor, and (c) jazz combo music. Does the survey support or
refute Jeff’s hypothesis? Interpret your findings.
5. Jeff wonders if The Hobbits’ Choice Restaurant is more appealing to women than it is to men or
vice versa. Perform the proper analysis, interpret it, and answer Jeff’s question.
6. With respect to the location of The Hobbits’ Choice Restaurant, is a waterfront view preferred
more than a drive of less than 30 minutes?
7. In general, upscale restaurants are appealing to higher-income households, whereas they are less
appealing to lower-income households. Is this the case for The Hobbits’ Choice Restaurant?
8. Do older or younger people want unusual desserts and/or unusual entrées?
9. Create a variable that distinguishes the “probable patrons” (likely to patronize=4 or 5) from the
“not probable patrons” (likely to patronize=1, 2, or 3). If the probable patrons constitute the
target market for Hobbits’ Choice, what is the demographic makeup of this target market? Use
crosstabulations to consider the demographics of household income, education level, gender, and
zip code. Also consider the media habits of the target market, including magazines, radio,
newscasts, and newspapers.
10. Use regression analysis to determine which restaurant features are related to consumers’
likelihood of patronizing The Hobbits’ Choice Restaurant?

Developing Cognitive-Based Intervention Method Using a Case Study Student

This is a Masters of Special Education course that focuses on effective practices and methods used to support, manage, teach, and otherwise facilitate positive outcomes for children and youth with behavior, social, and emotional problems. Course goals are educator-oriented knowledge and skills required to address the prevention and intervention needs of students with a broad range of behavioral, social, and emotional disorders and disabilities. SPED 843 also addresses knowledge and skills needed to collaborate with mental health professionals, parents and families, and other stakeholders. Classwork focuses on literature, research-based intervention approaches, and casework illustrates specific approaches and programs.

Overview:

Students with emotional, social, and behavioral disorders are best served when educators are able to choose and offer a variety of individually crafted interventions and supports. In addition to effective practice, environmental and organizational methods, and reinforcement, these options include cognitively based methods and behavior reduction strategies. Cognitively focused interventions and supports offer students methods they can use to improve their behavior, social skills, and academic performance independent of adult supervision or with reduced teacher and staff oversight. Thus, these methods promote self-determination and offer students strategies that transfer and generalize to settings outside of school. On occasion, many students with emotional, social, and behavioral disorders require the support of methods and interventions that result in reduction of problem behaviors.

Assignment:

Developing Cognitive-Based Intervention Method Using a Case Study Student: Trey Doherty

Your assignment should be between two to three pages in length and will be assessed on the following:

1.) A clearly written description of your subject.

2.) A clearly written, socially valid operational target.

3.) The definition of the target behavior.
