For many years, history has been outlined as acquired knowledge about the past events. A time, it has been viewed as the period of time after which the writing has been invented. History field plays a paramount role in analyzing the sequence of events, which sometimes investigates objectively on the patterns of the effects, which made the event occur (Bennett 2). Generally, history involves different areas of studies that include religion, politics, social history, Diplomatic history, environmental, public history, People history and World history among others. Although these categories differ in views, they are common in explanations (Houghton 1). In this regard, this paper seeks to analyze two articles that relate to the topic of history. The first article discusses the current news on the history context of American politics, which for many years have been known to be influential in the entire World. The second article examines the history of art museum of arts and design in United States.

Historical Context of American Political

In a recent New York Times article, Parry (1) has discussed briefly on the history of American political leaders in addition, how media attributed to making American a better place. In the article, he outlines that, the political forces over the past years were so meaningful compared to what is happening currently. From his personal experience as a Washington journalist points that, the post World II period was the best chance for institutions of Republic to improve the country welfare through creating conditions that would help the middle class people live in better conditions without lack. For past years of history, Parry analysis how the press had helped in exposing the wrongdoing for various politicians as a way of protecting the rights of citizen particularly the racial minorities along with women whose voice were diminished. Although some politicians like President Dwight Eisenhower had helped veterans buy homes as well as education, some political leaders were reported to ignore the rights of citizens.

According to Parry, President Dwight was known to unite the country together in addition, increased productivity. Dwight pursued a moderate policy of confession that pointed that, American was the strongest and most influential nation globally. Born in 1890 and died in 1969, his life left a legacy. In his ruling, he was known in reducing the strains of Cold War in 1953 to the point that, he brought an armed peace from the border of South Korea to maintain peace. Meanwhile, United States and Russia were attacked by hydrogen bombs in addition, threat of destructive forces were all over the World. He concentrated on maintaining world peace in addition, enjoyed the development atom for peace program. As a way of ensuring all citizens are treated equally, he occasionally ordered to the complete reunion of the armed forces that, there should be no second-class citizens in American country. In his leadership, he emphasized on better conditions that would attribute to all citizens living in harmony.

During John Kennedy leadership, Parry points out that, poverty had increased drastically in the United States. Although he was known to have pushed United States into the World leading technology, most citizens’ needs were ignored. It was at this point    President Lyndon Johnson intervened in fighting poverty in the United States. Additionally, he provided medical insurance for those above 65 years along with those too poor to pay.

It was at this point, the federal courts began to address the shameful history of racial segregation; and other forms of discrimination in 1950s and 1960s. This was to act as the U.S constitution specifically the amendment for equal protection. In 1960s, the U.S press corps noticed the improvement that Lyndon Johnson had done in the country; and as a result, they functioned closer to ideals of politicians that ruled in suspicions. For instance, the Watergate Scandal was among the political scandal in 1970s in United States that resulted from the breaking of Democratic national Committee which effect led to resignation of President Richard Nixon in 1974. Additionally, it also resulted to trial conviction along with the incarceration of Nixon administration officials. As a result, by mid 1970s, there were real checks and balance of ensuring the rights of citizens and accountability of political leadership were put in check.

Parry argues that, the view of American crisis becomes clear to him in the sense that, he sees the need of all journalist and editors report on any corrupt story without fear of losing jobs. He insists on honesty journalism that would make the world a better place. If leadership was to grow significantly should consider honest content along with courageous outlets.

Conclusion

As discussed in the above article, it is indeed true that Journalism have a fundamental role to play in making the world a better place. As Parry ( 1) points out, there are no shortcuts to correcting the imbalance of U.S political system. In this regard, Parry has points out some of the challenges that United States experienced with various leaders and how the Media exposed their misleading. Parry has recognized the impact of some few leaders who worked hard in making a better American Nation. This knowledge has enhanced my understanding on current events in addition, it has changed my perspective of history. It has inspired me to know that, Media has a great role in making the World a better place. As a result, I have known that, we have the solution to what we inspire to see in politics.

It is based in Manhattan in New York; as a center for collection of handmade objects in different forms: metal, fiber, clay, glass and wood. The Museum place now includes four floors of exhibition, emerging artists, exhibitions for works established, restaurants and 150-seat auditorium that the Museum plans to feature lecturers. In addition, it has a center for jewelry study and educational center, which offers multi-media access to art sources materials to students. Caplin reports out that, the show tends to focus on postwar contemporary art; which acts as the guiding principle of how it started out as the craft museum (Iise-Neuman 1).

The museum has quickly outgrown to the point that, it can have ten shows simultaneously as well as displayinging its permanent collection. The building has now been established in the number of visitors it holds on a daily basis. As a result, many individuals have praised the new building as a building that is impossible hard to get out of mind. Although there have been critics on building, the fact is, the building attracts many.

As discussed in the above article, history of Museum of arts and design has been effectively discussed by Caplin (1) in a recent New York Times article. As a result, this article has enhanced my understanding on how Museum of Arts and Design started in addition, my knowledge on history has increased and inspired to develop a habit of reading newspaper daily to broaden my knowledge.
